Where these photos appear
- One Meta catalog feeds Facebook Shops, Instagram Shopping and catalog ads, so one set of photos serves all three.
- Shops and carousel ads show product images as squares; other shapes get cropped.
- These are catalog specs for businesses. Personal Marketplace listings from your phone have no published size rules.
Required and recommended
Required rules can get a listing rejected; recommended ones affect how it looks, for example zoom. Our photo check uses these:
- At least 500 × 500 px (required)
- 8 MB or smaller (required)
- JPEG or PNG (required)
- Square, as shops display it (recommended)

Questions
How can I check my photos against the Facebook Shops rules?
Open Facebook Shops photos, add your photos and turn on “Just check my photos”: each one is checked as it is, and you see what passes and why the rest fail. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF photos. Turn it off to make a 1024 × 1024 px copy that is checked again.
Is PixListing free?
Yes. PixListing is free to use and needs no account. On the free plan you can add up to 30 photos at once, 50 MB each.
