Which format should I choose?

  • JPG: photos. Opens everywhere. No transparency.
  • PNG: logos, screenshots and graphics. Lossless, keeps transparency, large for photos.
  • WebP: websites. Smaller than JPG, keeps transparency, opens in all current browsers.
  • AVIF: websites. Usually the smallest, but slower to create and not supported by some apps yet.
