Fit options
- Fit inside: keeps the whole image and its proportions, within the width and height you enter.
- Crop to fill: gives the exact size by trimming the edges evenly. Good for thumbnails and social posts.
- Stretch: gives the exact size without cropping, so the image may look squashed.
- Enter only a width or only a height and the other side follows the original proportions.
Quality when shrinking
Big reductions are done in several halving steps instead of one jump, which keeps edges smoother than a single-step resize.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing reduce file size?
Yes, making an image smaller in pixels also makes the file smaller. For an exact file size, use the Compress tool with a target size.
Can I make an image larger?
Yes, but enlarging cannot add detail, so the result may look soft. It is best to start from the largest original you have.
Is PixListing free?
Yes. PixListing is free to use and needs no account. Files can be up to 25 MB, 20 images per batch.
