How the fees add up
A $25 item with $5 shipping is a $30 order. Etsy takes $0.20 to list it, a $1.95 transaction fee and $1.15 for payment processing: $3.30 in all.
If the item costs you $8 and shipping $4, you keep $14.70. Offsite Ads, when an order comes from one, would add $4.50 more.
What this calculator leaves out
- A one-time shop set-up fee, if Etsy charges you one.
- Subscriptions such as Etsy Plus.
- Shipping labels bought on Etsy: enter their cost as your shipping cost.
- Currency conversion, when you list in a currency other than your bank account’s.
- Fees for sellers outside the US, such as other processing rates and Regulatory Operating fees.
Questions
Are these the Etsy fees for my country?
They are the fees for sellers whose bank account is in the US. Etsy’s payment processing fee differs by country, and some countries add a Regulatory Operating fee. Etsy’s Payments Policy lists them.
Does Etsy charge its transaction fee on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee is on the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge. For US sellers it is not charged on sales tax.
When do I pay Offsite Ads fees?
Only when a buyer clicks one of Etsy’s ads on another site and orders from your shop within 30 days. It is 15%, or 12% once your shop has made $10,000 or more in sales over the past 365 days, and from then on. At most $100 an order.
