Photos per listing and what eBay doesn’t allow
- Up to 24 photos per listing, and at least one.
- The first photo is the main one shown in search; it should show the whole item face-on.
- No badges, logos, copyright notices or watermarks added to the photos.
- Stock or catalog photos can’t be used for used items, and close-ups should show any flaws or scratches.
- A neutral background is best, white preferred; a darker one can work better for shiny items.
Required and recommended
Required rules can get a listing rejected; recommended ones affect how it looks, for example zoom. Our photo check uses these:
- At least 500 px on each side (required)
- 12 MB or smaller (required)
- 1,600 px or larger for zoom (recommended)

Questions
How can I check my photos against the eBay rules?
Open eBay photos, add your photos and turn on “Just check my photos”: each one is checked as it is, and you see what passes and why the rest fail. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF photos. Turn it off to make a 1600 × 1600 px copy that is checked again.
Is PixListing free?
Yes. PixListing is free to use and needs no account. On the free plan you can add up to 30 photos at once, 50 MB each.
