| Fee | What eBay charges |
|---|---|
| Per-order fee | $0.30 when the order total is $10 or less, $0.40 above. |
| International fee | 1.65% of the total amount of the sale, when the buyer’s address is outside the US and you don’t ship with eBay International Shipping. |

How the fees add up
eBay charges its fees on the total amount of the sale: the item, the shipping you charge and the sales tax. A $25 item with $5 shipping is a $30 sale. In most categories eBay takes a $4.08 final value fee and the $0.40 per-order fee: $4.48 in all.
If the item costs you $8 and shipping $4, you keep $13.52. With a 5% Promoted Listings ad rate, you would keep $12.02.
What this calculator leaves out
- eBay Store subscriptions and their lower final value fees.
- Extra fees for sellers rated Below Standard or with many “item not as described” returns.
- Promoted Listings priority campaigns, which charge per click.
- Shipping labels bought on eBay: enter their cost as your shipping cost.
- Listing upgrades, such as a subtitle or a reserve price.
Questions
Does eBay charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
Yes. The final value fee, the per-order fee and Promoted Listings ad fees are all based on the total amount of the sale, which includes shipping, handling and sales tax.
Why is the fee lower above $7,500?
In most categories eBay charges 13.6% on the first $7,500 of each item’s sale and 2.35% on the part above it. Some categories have their own rates and limits, listed in the table on this page.
Do I pay the per-order fee on athletic shoes?
Not when the sale is $150 or more: then the final value fee is 8% and there is no per-order fee. Below $150 the usual 13.6% and per-order fee apply.
Is the result exact?
It is an estimate from eBay’s published fees. Your eBay Seller Hub shows the exact fees of each order.
