Enlarge a product photo for Amazon zoom

Amazon lets shoppers zoom in on images 1,000 px or larger on the longest side. Enlarge a small product photo with AI so it gets there sharp.

Good to know

Amazon’s size rule

Amazon’s image requirements ask for 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side, and 1,000 px or larger for zoom. A photo between 500 and 1,000 px still lists, but shoppers can’t zoom in on it; Amazon doesn’t accept one under 500 px.

Which setting to pick

  • Photo between 500 and 1,000 px: 2× takes it to 1,000 to 2,000 px.
  • Photo between 250 and 500 px: 4× takes it over the line; a 300 px photo becomes 1,200 px. Under 250 px, even 4× stays below 1,000 px, so start from a larger copy if you have one.
  • Then make the main image in Marketplace Photos: pure white background and the product filling 85% of the frame, checked against Amazon’s rules.

How large a photo it takes

The enlarging runs on your device, so the limit depends on it. Photos larger than this are refused with a note, before any work starts.

  • Computers with a current Chrome, Edge or Safari: photos up to 2,000 px on the longest side, so up to 8,000 px at 4×. It runs on the graphics chip, which is fast.
  • Phones, tablets and browsers without WebGPU: photos up to 800 px on the longest side. It runs on the processor, which is much slower.
  • Photos are enlarged one at a time, the others wait their turn.

Questions

Does Amazon need 1,600 px?

No. Amazon’s own pages say 1,000 px or larger on the longest side for zoom, and up to 10,000 px. Larger photos still help shoppers see detail.

Will Amazon accept an enlarged photo?

Amazon’s rules cover the size, the file type and what the photo shows: the main image must show the actual product. Enlarging changes the size, not what the photo shows.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your photos stay on your device. They aren’t uploaded. That includes the AI.

Is PixListing free?
